Planning a trip to Piemonte may be a first-time experience for you and with so much to do in the region, we're here to help with the most frequently asked questions about Piemonte and your stay at Almaranto. .If anything is still unanswered for you, please do contact us by email - we'd be happy to help.

Q. What time is check-in at Relais Almaranto?

 

Check-in is officially from 16:00, to give us time to prepare your room after the previous guest has checked out (check-out time is 11:00).   Whilst we cannot guarantee to get you access to your room earlier than this, if your room is ready when you arrive we will certainly allow you to check-in earlier. 

If you want be guaranteed earlier access, particularly if arriving early after a night flight or long drive, we do suggest to book your room from the night before, so that its ready and waiting for you.


Q.How many rooms does Relais Almaranto have?

Relais Almaranto has 23 individually designed rooms and suites, each combining modern comfort with traditional Italian character. 

 

 

Q. What types of suites are available at Relais Almaranto?

Relais Almaranto offers four premium suites:

  • Nocciola Suite

  • Giardino Suite

  • Terrazza Suite

  • Almaranto Suite

 

Each suite features unique design elements such as private terraces, gardens, spacious interiors, and luxury amenities, with the Almaranto Suite offering up to 175m² of space. 

Q. What size are the beds at Relais Almaranto? 

 

All our rooms offer one double/matrimoniale bed, and most are European Kingsize – 180cm x 200cm.  We don’t provide additional beds/foldaways for our rooms, in order to control the total number of guests at Almaranto and to keep a tranquil and spacious environment for everyone.

 

 

Q. Does Relais Almaranto have a restaurant?

Yes, Relais Almaranto has two on-site restaurants:

  • ADAGIO Ristorante Gourmet (fine dining)

  • ANIMA Ristorante Bistro (casual dining with sunset views) 

Q. What awards have Relais Almaranto’s restaurants won?

 

ADAGIO Ristorante Gourmet has received multiple recognitions, including awards from respected Italian culinary guides such as Gambero Rosso and Il Golosario, reflecting its high-quality cuisine and dining experience. 

 

Q. Is there a gym at Relais Almaranto?

 

Yes, the hotel has a gym available for guests, alongside wellness facilities and outdoor activities.  Our gym has a mix of cardio machines and free weights for guests to use, available 08:00 to 20:00 daily.   For in-room treatments, 48 hours notice is required and we can arrange for visiting therapists for massages, beauty treatments and hairdressing – just ask us for details.


Q. What type of food is served at Relais Almaranto?

We have two restaurants at Almaranto: ANIMA is our casual ristorante bistro, serving a relaxed and varied menu from 12:00 to 22:00 daily. We proud of mix of classic Piemontese classics – some served with our own little ‘twist’ -  as well as seasonal options from other international cuisines.   ADAGIO Ristorante Gourmet is our fine-dining restaurant, open Thursday to Sunday evenings only, offering tasting menus or a la carte choices and bringing you the best of Piemonte along with our extensive wine list.   We also are pleased to cater for any dietary requirements – please just let us know how we can help. For vegan dishes please give 48 hours notice.


 

Q. Does Relais Almaranto have a swimming pool?

 

Yes, Relais Almaranto features a swimming pool with views over the surrounding vineyards and hills, perfect for relaxing during your stay.  It is open for the season from mid April to October, weather permitting. Hotel guests can relax on comfy loungers and pool towels are provided.

Please note that the pool is not heated and is closed from November to mid April - actual dates will vary depending on season/weather.

 

Q. Is there a gym at Relais Almaranto?

 

Yes, the hotel has a gym available for guests, alongside wellness facilities and outdoor activities.  Our gym has a mix of cardio machines and free weights for guests to use, available 08:00 to 20:00 daily.   For in-room treatments, 48 hours notice is required and we can arrange for visiting therapists for massages, beauty treatments and hairdressing – just ask us for details.

 

 
Q. Are children allowed at Relais Almaranto?

We are delighted to welcome a limited number children at Almaranto, when staying in our two connecting Giardino rooms. For the comfort and enjoyment of all our guests, we ask that children are supervised by their parents/guardians at all times and do not make excessive noise anywhere in the hotel.

Is Relais Almaranto dog-friendly?

Yes, Almaranto does allow small dogs below knee height in selected rooms for a small additional nightly charge. Please check with us before booking to be sure we can accommodate your furry friend and for more information, check out our dog policy here.
 

Q. I’m planning an event – can I hire Relais Almaranto exclusively?

Yes you can hire Almaranto exclusively and have access to all our 23 rooms and suites, as well as our function spaces and our Anima Ristorante Bistro. The pool area also will be yours exclusively too.  We can advise on menus and activities for your event, such as a grand celebratory dinner in our Courtyard or our banquet hall and DJ in our vaulted brick barrel cellar.  A minimum stay and minimum spend may apply – please contact us to talk through your plans.
 

Q. Can Relais Almaranto arrange shipping of wine back to my home?

We are happy to work with any local wine producer to ensure your favourite wine discoveries can be shipped safely back to your home. We can also arrange wine tastings onsite at Almaranto from our extensive wine selection to help you make your choice, and also arrange personal tours of local producers and their vineyards. 
 

Q. Does Relais Almaranto have parking?

Yes, Relais Almaranto offers on-site parking for guests, making it easy to explore the region by car.


Q. Can I charge my Tesla at Relais Almaranto?
 
We do not have a charging point- we only have a normal Schuco plug for overnight charging, a charging station is located on the main square in Calamandrana a few minutes walk away.


Q. I have a low-level sports car – is Relais Almaranto's car park suitable for my car?
 
Our car park area is on one level and is gravelled and should be suitable for all cars. The hotel is also staffed 24/7 including patrols of the parking areas to help keep your cars safe and secure.


Q. Can I book wine tours and tastings in the region with Relais Almaranto?
 

Of course! Our team will be happy to assist in booking tours of vineyards and wineries that you care to visit. If you need guidance or where to visit, we can make recommendations also, to ensure you make the most of your visit to Piemonte.


Q. What can I do when I visit Piemonte?

A. There is so much to see!  A visit to Piemonte wouldn’t be the same without a visit to a vineyard or two and we are also home to the Slow Food Movement with hundreds of restaurant options across Monferrato and the wider UNESCO region of Piemonte.  Take a tour of the medieval hilltop villages by car, or explore closer to the hotel with a rented e-bike - which we can arrange for you – as the perfect way to enjoy the scenery and the fresh air.  Festas and fairs are a regular occurrence in peak season in Piemonte so do check out our “What’s On” guide to see what might be happening during your stay. The Piemonte tourism website is also an excellent resource for a guide on seasonal events.  There are also countless historic properties to visit, our regional capital Torino offers an Italian slice of cosmopolitan life, reached in around an hour from the hotel.  For coast lovers, the Ligurian coastline and seaside towns of Noli and Sportono to name just two are within an easy drive and daytrip too.  Piemonte also has two very good outlet malls housing all the major Italian high-end brands if you need a shopping fix. You can join us for a cooking class at Almaranto too, or simply just relax by the pool and take in the sunset from our terrace. We promise you, you will not be short of things to do and places to see!
